About Us

Rowley & Hawkins Fruit Farm is a family owned and operated farm. We
began farming in Washington in 1981, leaving a successful farming
operation in Utah to pioneer the Tart Cherry Industry in the state of
Washington. Growing fruit has been a way of life for five generations
of Rowleys -- going back to great, great, great grandpa William Rowley
in England.

Currently we operate about 800 acres, growing a large variety of fruits
and vegetables, including: tart cherries, sweet cherries, peaches,
pears, plums, nectarines, apples, apricots, raspberries, strawberries,
blackberries, boysenberries, grapes, and asparagus.

Our first fruit trees in Washington were planted in 1981. Our first
commercial cherry harvest was in 1984 with the work of picking and
processing performed by family members of all ages. Our first cherry
line included four Huntley cherry pitters, with the washing, sorting, and
can filling all done by hand.

Our Tart Cherry operation has expanded into a new plant with thirteen
Dunkley pitters, electronic sorters, automatic can fillers and other
improvements to produce the highest quality product possible. We still
continue in the family tradition of using many family members in the
picking and processing of our tart cherries. July and August is "cherry
picking time." The highlight is having our homes filled with relatives
from near and far as we work together to complete the harvest.

Locally, on our farm or at farmers markets, we sell our large variety of
fresh produce, our "Taste-A-Treat" gourmet jams, jellies, and syrups,
fresh pressed apple juice, and tart cherry juice concentrate.

It is our pleasure to ensure you receive the highest quality and best
tasting products for your health and enjoyment. From our family to
yours - enjoy!
